Communal Vacation

With the up coming holidays, even the folks of Midian have places they'd rather be. Most of the Pack seems to be occupied with their own sagas, the majority of which seems to require they be MIA. It's not just the Pack - things have been quiet at the lab too.

The  den was ramshacked and one guard was found dead by the door. So far no one questioned knows who did this nor what happened, but I see this as a failure on the guardians' end. It's not the first time they have let someone outside of the Pack through the gates, and the lot of them have a habit of fleeing faster than chickens when something dangerous arises.

In the midst of this confusion...
Ayr's gone missing again.

Again.

I got a text from him though. He was injured badly in the TZ explosion and is being treated in the mainland. But he's become so damaged he can't even handle being near another person; mentioned something about a nilled immune system.

Only the hospital remains a busy spot; GSWs are always in still in fashion. Recently, the cases coming in are more unique - mental issues are at a peak; talks of unknown attackers; unusual gashes and claw marks and the like. I have never seen such an increase.

The maniacs are getting creative.
Who needs to slaughter a victim these days? Just hack off a leg and beat 'em with it!

You are not helping.

So what are we doing while everyone's vanished?

I spent a good amount of time catching up, either with friends, corpses, or my personal health. A lot of loose ends have been pieced together towards the end of the month. I ran into a old face a week or so ago.

Dr. Ree, Former Surgeon at the MCMC

Ree's been busy apparently. She's got a new job out in the mainland, working with a group that tried to assassinate her. I asked to explain the logic behind that, but even after the explanation, I could not get it. She made a point of stating that the group allowed her to see her mother. This was the first I'd heard Ree talk about family, but she looked very happy about greeting her mom.

I did have my own story to give, mostly explaining why my arm have a blue glowing blub and why my eyes were two different colors. Ree didn't seem surprised to hear that the catwalker issue had been taken care of.

Since the attack, I'd been talking to Bailey, the catwalker's second in command. Though the ceiling meeting was heated, they no longer suspect me of taking Tober. Tober served her purpose.; my target's moved elsewhere. I have learned a lesson from this also.

Leave the capture to the Ashagi Secuirty Force.

Yes, leave it to your new lackeys.

They are not my lackeys!
Alex and the others are vital for keeping away the rest of Midian's population, the majority of which is out to slaughter us. My recent promotion to Researcher makes me just as guilty and open to attack now.

A big ass fucking target.

I'm not the only one to notice a decline in the Pack. Iellwen noticed it too, even moreso since Dax is on of the missing. She's going into heat, and with her mate gone, there will be hell to pay if he doesn't show up soon. Somewhere in the midst of this conversation, we saw a ghost.

Tobias , 'Deceased' Elder Medic for the Pack

Is it a new trend to fakes deaths in Midian?

I think so. There was Tobias, high atop us on a ledge, perfectly healthy...and blonde. He'd escaped from the Dames but felt compelled to vanish to keep his former mistresses from killing the Pack and his then boyfriend Tanner. Pretend he was dead to keep others alive.

I'd never admit it, but I was overjoyed to see him alive. The addictions and attitude aside, he was still my mentor into the world of medicine along with Fluffy. After a little chat, he left, making me promise to act like he was still deceased.
