Pitch

Midian City is now victim to a hostage situation - an entire city cut off from its lifelines by a sick and twisted man in the wake of the King's unfortunate passing. I'm sure Forge likely assassinated the man himself, but all that remains now is that I need to do my part to make sure my family's safe.

If you could find said family...

Speaking of which, when I woke up in Levi, Adagio was nowhere to be found. We had left Arwen sleeping in Midian so we could have a little time to ourselves before heading back. But of course, when I woke up that morning, heading back was a bit more difficult that I thought. I managed to get back into the city on a favor and a good word from my wife, but leaving again was not possible. First thing I did was check work, in search of Adagio still. There was no sign of her.

Most of Midian was in hysterics, not knowing where they were going to get food from once supplies were docked. Sari-Mart, the restaurants, even the MCMC were taking precautionary measures to keep looters at bay before the riots even started.

I was sure Arwen woke up terrified and I wanted to make sure she knew where I was. I figured she'd head to the Den for safety, but according to Lily, she had been wandering Midian in search of Adagio and myself. If Adagio had made it back to Midian, why wasn't she with Arwen? What kind of mothers were we?!

I finally returned to the apartment after failing to locate either of them, three hours of searching with nothing to show for it. I just wanted to rest my body a little. Turns out Adagio had been back to the apartment. She left a letter explaining that as soon as the blackout hit, Lithia sent her out to the mainland to seek help from the other Ashagi branches. She warned that there would be some dirty deals made, but by now, I've come to expect that from my wife given those connections of hers. From the words however, it was clear she had not met Arwen here when she arrived either.

So where the hell was that little scared girl?

In the sewers...
Can you believe that?
Whole city goes black, she gets scared, and hides...in the sewers.

That's just wrong. Poor kid fled after fights broke out, tripped, and knocked herself out. I'm not sure how long she was unconscious for, but she was cold to the touch. managed to wake her after a few minutes and get the bump on her head treated, but it took longer to calm her. Kid's only five after all; can't expect too much maturity so soon.

We decided to stay at the Den for now since the generator was not affected by the city's outage. She even helped bring some food over to the Den.

*updated three days later*

I've worked out some daily rounds during this crisis. First, I make sure things are smooth at the den. Afterwards, I head to Ashagi Labs and make sure the subjects are managing well in the darkness of the labs. After that, I walk to the MCMC to aid in treating patients and making things as comfortable as possible. Finally, I head back to my apartment to stock up on food and herbs, and bring everything to the den for the Pack to eat.

Seems like a simple means of managing crisis no?

For now...

Of course. With Damian and his wife now dead, the city's got no government. Nerio and his wife have been kind enough to aid the MCMC where they can during this nonsense, but the rest of the city's got to fend for themselves. Didn't take long for the crazies to come out to play either.

I thought Arwen would be safest at the Den. She likely would be if she stayed there, but the girl's a wanderer. On her way from school, she was caught by one of the Warden's lunatics and tortured. It shaved and/or burned her fur off aside from what was on her ears and tail. The poor kitten was leave traumatized to the point where she refused to speak English, reverting back to crying out in tiger. It was hard for the others to treat or understand her like that, myself included, but I manage to calm her enough to encourage more general feline dialect.

To make things a little lively around the den while we waited this out, we organized a den clean up. Last time this was done, it was only Tobias, Fluffy and myself. This time however, we had a sizable number of helping hands. For a while, the horrors of the chaos in the streets were out of our minds.

Brekka cleaned the med bay while two Pups handled the loft.
Even Ayr helped out!

Was most proud to see Zhu and Lunar clearing their new home.

Fluffy and I braved the fridge and lockers

I'm proud to say the Den is sanitary for the next few months, but I'm likely traumatized by the messes we discovered. It wasn't just rotten food or stuff like that. We found spoiled small animal carcasses, most unrecognizable. There was a locker growing mushrooms not native to the ones we have in the den. And...

Ayr's laundry...from like, months ago.
Dis-gusting!

We need another cleanup day just to handle that...luckily I thought up an excellent eco-friendly solution to Ayr's rancid clothing.
